Our Story

Roots in Nepal,
home in Adelaide

Sarayou Threads is a conscious fashion brand creating handcrafted shawls and scarves from natural fibers — pashmina, cashmere, cotton, silk, and wool — driven by a deep respect for tradition, craftsmanship, and the people behind the work.

A name carried
from my father

The name Sarayou is deeply personal. It is inspired by my father — whose love, quiet strength, and thoughtful teachings have shaped the way I see the world. He taught me the value of kindness, generosity, and an appreciation for simple beauty. Every piece we create carries something of that spirit.

Our shawls and scarves are made slowly and intentionally by skilled artisans in Nepal, using techniques refined across generations. Each fiber — pashmina from the Chyangra goat, cashmere from eastern Nepal's high pastures, silk and cotton hand-blended on wooden looms — is chosen for its honesty and longevity, never to imitate something cheaper than itself.

Wearing Sarayou means supporting textile traditions, empowering artisans, and participating in a movement that prioritizes ethics, quality, and cultural preservation. For every fifty purchases, we contribute to orphanages, homeless shelters, and elderly individuals in Nepal — so your purchase reaches further than your wardrobe.

Pure Natural Fibers

Pashmina, cashmere, cotton, silk, and wool — never polyester, acrylic, or blends designed to deceive. Materials are listed honestly on every product.

Handwoven, Not Mass-made

Pieces are made on traditional wooden looms in small batches. We never rush quality for volume; if a piece sells out, we wait for the next batch.

Empowering Artisans

We work directly with the weaving and embroidery families behind every piece — long-term relationships and fair compensation, no anonymous middlemen.

Giving Back

For every fifty purchases, we contribute to orphanages, homeless shelters, and elderly individuals — your purchase has a meaningful impact beyond the parcel.

The Fiber

12–16 microns of pure luxury

To put that in perspective: human hair measures 50–70 microns. Premium cashmere is typically 15–19 microns. Our pure pashmina fiber — the downy undercoat of the Chyangra goat — measures just 12–16 microns, making it among the finest natural fibers on earth.

This extraordinary fineness gives pashmina its defining characteristics: an almost weightless feel, exceptional warmth for its weight, and a natural softness that only improves with wear. It is not a fabric you simply wear — it is something you live in.

"The fiber of kings, the warmth of clouds."
